First day!!

Emma had a fabulous first day at daycare! I dropped her off this morning and she was ready to play! I called to check in on her around 10am and her teacher said she was doing great - babbling, crawling and having a good time :) When I picked her up her teacher said she got a little upset after I left but eventually recovered. Later on, she had taken to her teacher so much that when her teacher stepped out to lunch she got upset!! Overall, her teacher said for a baby who has never been in daycare before Emma had an excellent day.

As for me...last night was a lot harder. I had butterflies like it was the first day of school for ME! Everytime I would look at Emma I would think about not having every hour of the day to spend with her anymore. But, I know deep down in my heart (and my brain) that Emma needs socialization with other babies. And staying at home with me isn't good for her. Also, as a mom and professional woman, I need time with adults. I think working will definitely help me appreciate my time with Emma even more!

Luckily, I didn't cry when I dropped her off. When I picked her up and heard how great she did and how everyone took so well to her...now, then I almost cried at how proud I was of my little baby girl!
