I remember when I graduated high school (or college for that matter) and my mom said "Oh it seems just like yesterday I was rocking you to sleep!" I couldn't believe her time table. To me it seemed like an eternity. Each class seemed like it took for-eeeeeever! I'm beginning to realize exactly what my mom felt like in those moments. Somehow when you become a mom time suddenly speeds up. One day turns into what once was an hour of my life before. Everyone told me not to rush pregnancy because once she got here time would go by so quickly. I thought they were being silly. But how true they were being! It seems just like yesterday we were bringing Emma home without a clue in the world as to what to do with her. Now, she is like my other half hanging out, laughing, playing with Elmo. My love for her grows stronger each day. Every day she grows taller, bigger, smarter. But everday I grow wiser as a mom, less of the selfish girl I once was and more of the giving mom who wants anything and everything for my daughter.
This past week Emma turned 3 months old! Emma at 3 months is quite a delight!
~She sleeps still rather inconsisent. Sometimes she will go down around 10ish and sleep the entire night. Other nighs she will go down and sleep till around 3ish and wake for a feeding. I still can't complain though.
~Right before she falls asleep she will give the biggest smile. :) The sweetest thing ever!
~She has also started laughing in her sleep. The other day while napping I thought she was awake but sure enough she was asleep having a good ole laugh!!
~She has inherited my dramatic personality! She will be in the middle of a full out cry fest and then look up and smile. She will smile and laugh just enough to get your attention...then start crying again!
~She loves her Dora and Elmo toys. She has a Elmo camera that says "Say Cheese!" "Give it to Elmo" "That is marvelous!" "Looking good!" We take it with us when we are in the car. If she gets upset we just have to click Elmo a few times and she is good to go!!
~Much to my delight, people are starting to say she looks a lot like me now :) Seriously, she has lost a lot of her Asian features...even Hai has noticed.
~She is just tall enough to use her exersaucer. My parents bought it for her this weekend...and she loves it! She pays particular attention to one toy each playtime.
~And on that note...she is doing very well holding her head up. It is still a little shaky but hey, it's still a good job :)
Saturday we had Emma's 3 month photos done at Frank Liske Park. I am so excited to get them back. The photo at the top is just a sneak peak. I've seen a couple more and they are great!!! Emma was such a trooper for the entire photo session - which lasted about an hour!! I can't wait to share the rest of the pictures.
