Emma is reaching about 11 inches this week. Weighing in at about 1 lb. the baby looks like a mini-newborn. Lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct. She even has mini tooth buds beneath the gums! While Emma's eyes have formed, the iris (what gives the eye color) has yet to form.
The ease of the second trimester seems to be going away. As I get larger (and from the above picture you can see it's happening) I seem to experience more craziness. My back is starting to hurt periodically. I'm told this is because of the uterus size (it's like a cantelope). Also, because I have gained weight that my body is not use to carrying my knee also hurts periodically.. I assume it's because of the added pressure being applied to an already banged up knee. Luckily, these are things easily remedied by a heating pad.
I'm so fortunate for the support of Hai, my family and friends. Pregnancy can take a toll on you physically, emotionally, mentally and all those other -lly's yet to be thought of. I am lucky to have this "wall" of support to celebrate all the wonderful things with and to muddle through the craziness with.
