Week 30!

WEEK 30!!! WEEK THIRTY!!! WEEK 3-0!

If you look closely you can see my belly is lopsided. Emma tends to hang out on the right side mostly. Which I find sooo funny - I think she's a conservative in the making. She does get very active during FoxNews time at night :)
At week 30 Emma continues to grow, grow, grow! She weighs just about 3lbs - think the weight of a head of cabbage. Her eyesight is continuing to develop. However, a baby's eyesight - even after birth - is not that keen. Her vision will be about 20/400 until it continues to develop. Her teeth have developed and are waiting just under the skin until they are ready to pop out! This time next year, Emma will be around 42 weeks old :)

When Emma is older I plan on telling her this story. "Emma, your mom and dad loved you so much I decided to have photos taken to document how my belly got big! Even though most of it was your hotel uterus getting bigger and certainly not any pound of fat whatsoever I wanted to document the miracle. (Okay, slight exaggeration there...but hey, it's my story). So, just as your dad and mom were having so much fun taking pictures, a big, bad fox came sneaking up. He loved your mom's smell soooo much he bit her. And he kept coming back to get her. But, your dad being so brave saved your mom from the fox! He is your mom's hero forever. And your mom and dad have lived happily ever after with you, the best daughter ever! The end."
Nice story, uh?
In all seriousness, I went to the OB today and everything with Emma seems to be OK. The story was already circulating throughout the doctor's office before I got there. The doctors thought the fox was a prop for the photoshoot! They had no idea it was a wild fox. Nonetheless, I saw a new doctor today who was very kind and took his time to explain everything to me. He even did extra research on the rabies vaccine and pregnancy. He said my body treats Emma much like an organ and protects her. So anything my body would do to protect an organ it is doing to protect Emma. Good news!
