Parenthood

Emma taking a gander at "Peanut" the guinea pig (my new class pet)

When it's good, it's a blast. When it's bad, it's rough. So far that's parenthood for us. There is nothing like Emma's laugh. Or seeing her smile when I pick her up. Or seeing her discover something new for the first time. BUT...it rough seeing Emma sick, not knowing what's wrong, and then, not being able to fix it. By nature, I test to figure out what's wrong and try to find a plan to fix things. It's not easy when you can't figure out what's wrong...or even when you can...not be able to fix it.

Luckily, Emma is on the mend. We finally figured out she not only had a cold but had pink eye. Yuck. That was some nastiness. I pray we never experience that again.

In other news, Emma said "doggy" or some form of it today. She was actually looking at Peanut, a guinea pig I have for my classroom. That adds to her current word bank of: hey, yeaaah, dada (which she says non stop). No voice of "mama" yet.
