This cartoon made me laugh. Our childbirth class is mostly couples due mid-November to end of November. There are only two couples due in December. Last night I actually told Hai maybe we will get some of their pregnancy karma and deliver in November. I don't want to deliver an unhealthy baby but if little Emma is ready a little early, well, I'm ready for her to come! So, we had our first childbirth class last night. I was worried Hai would be miserable and not enjoy it. However, I think he actually liked the class and learned some stuff. Last night, we mainly talked about signs of labor, nutrition, the basics. Next week, we will begin breathing techniques. We don't actually tour the maternity ward for another few weeks; however, I did peek inside some of the rooms and they seem nice. The maternity ward seems very friendly and accomodating to moms and dads.
Next up...Saturday we are having maternity portraits taken. Of course, this would be the EXACT week I have become quite aware of my belly, it's proportions, it's color, it's shape. Without a joke, my belly is lop-sided. It veres to the right...maybe my baby is a little conservative in the making! I'm hoping the photos turn out really great! I've seen the photographers work before and it is really great. The color of her photos are just spectular. This photographer will also be taking pictures of Emma after she is born. You can visit her site and see some of her gorgeous work - http://www.elainemcdonaldphotography.blogspot.com/
FYI: There was also discussion of the H1N1 virus going around. Hospitals are taking certain precautions to make sure those in the hospital are protected from outside germs. Our CB instructor, and the news is covering it heavily, said there are no children (18 and under) allowed to visit effective October 1. So, of course, Hai and I will not be able to see visitors (in the hospital) under the age of 18. We've discussed having kids come visit once Emma is home and settled. Don't worry, I'll have plenty of hand santizer on hand :)
